In the year 2005, Mr. Lawrence Sequeira, a veteran in the field of hospitality with over three decades of experience, and his brother Mr. Joseph Sequeira, educated in Norway decided to combine their experience and expertise to create a family run venture in the Restaurant Business. Thus was born S. B. S. Food Court, S.B.S. standing for "Sequeira Brothers & Sisters" under which the Flag's Veg World Cuisine restaurant threw its doors open to the food lovers of Malad in Mumbai. The restaurant was designed as a cozy 120 seater with homely interiors that would appeal to attract Families. The focus was on Vegetarian Cuisine with an aim to meet the dining out needs of the Gujaratis and Marwadis that reside in and around Malad.
The challenges of catering to the epicurean needs of the Jain Community was an excellent opportunity for Flag's to test its culinary strengths and skills especially in Continental and Oriental Cuisines. There was an immense demand for Quality Vegetarian Catering and Banqueting Services in Malad from the Gujarati and Marwadi Population. The S.B.S. Food Court decided to capitalize on this demand and ventured into the Banqueting business by opening the Flag's Marriage and Party Hall in the year 2008.
With the astounding success of both the restaurant as well as the Banquet Venue, a huge base of loyal customers cultivated through persistent efforts and personalized service, the Sequeiras decided to create Brand Flag's and opened yet another restaurant in the same vicinity in 2011, only this one being much larger than its predecessor. Together, these three outlets enjoyed immense popularity and soon became a household name amongst the Vegetarian Food Lovers of Malad and Goregaon.
Not the ones to rest on their laurels, Flag's Hotels Pvt. Ltd. a company started by the Sequeiras, began scouting for newer options to spread their wings and having spotted a huge potential in the Goldmine like Lokhandwala area of Andheri, the company decided to explore the options of Alcoholic Beverages and Non Vegetarian Gourmet Foods. Flag's avant garde was conceptualized and created in 2015 to offer an innovative and futuristic experience to its clientele and it houses a fine dining restaurant and bar along with various banqueting options.
